Welcome!

Hello & thanks very much for visiting!  As you can see this site is pretty much brand new. Although I’ve been helping people improve their health & well-being for about 15yrs, I am just starting to develop the online component of my work.  I am excited to have the opportunity to share with you what I’ve learned about holistic health.

 I am a passionate believer that knowledge is power.  Having good information means we’re in a better position to take full responsibility for our lives, resulting in greater health & happiness.  As a qualified nutritionist & psychologist I want to help you to cut through the avalanche of information & provide sensible strategies that I know to be effective.

I am always humbled by the body-mind’s ability to heal itself & restore health when it is given the optimal conditions. Restoring balance doesn’t require handfuls of expensive supplements, highly restrictive diets or years of psychotherapy.  Often it consists of a few simple dietary & lifestyle changes, combined with some inner shifts in mental-emotional focus.  I have seen such changes literally transform a person’s health in a matter of weeks.  Here is a sample of some of the areas that inspire me & that I am intending to write about:

  • What we can eat to optimize our physical, mental, emotional & spiritual health
  • Strategies we can use to make sure our thoughts, emotions & actions support our life goals
  • How we can use natural methods – such as meditation, breathing techniques, chi gung exercises – to create greater health & awaken our deeper potentials for creativity & insight
  • How all of the above will also help our community & the environment as a whole to restore balance

The state of our health is at a critical point with an ever-increasing rise in life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, & diabetes. Lifestyle, diet, & stress are the main factors that create these conditions. Similarly the state of the planet is also at a critical point, with the way we produce our food being a significant factor.  Therefore making informed choices is not just about improving our own health; it also means considering the wider implications of our actions.  Thankfully what is good for us individually often goes hand in hand with what is good for the environment too.
