Progress is slow – but that’s okay!

It has been said that life is what happens to us whilst we make other plans & that certainly feels like the case for me at present.  My goal had been to produce lots of interesting natural health and personal growth information for this site by the end of June. But as you can see that proved to be overly optimistic!  I’ve been working flat out on other work commitments, meaning that progress here has been rather dismal.

Quite often life throws back at me the lessons that I teach to others in my classes. I am always telling people about the importance of keeping life in balance & of making sufficient time for self-care.  Keeping balance isn’t a destination that we arrive at, but something that we all need to constantly keep readjusting in response to our changing circumstances.  And so my original goal of getting various articles on this site had to be put aside in favour of work that at the time has been more important.

In years gone past I would have simply worked extra long hours to tackle both work targets.  I am very well acquainted with burning the midnight oil & sitting at the computer until the early hours.  Nowadays the only time I will do this is when it is an absolute necessity.

I’ve learned that excessively long working hours are not a very kind way of treating myself or treating my body.  I’ve also learned that when I get overly physically & emotionally tired then many areas of my life are affected & life in general is a lot less enjoyable.  The ego-me will shout that it wants everything achieved absolutely immediately, whilst the wiser (but less noisy) deeper-me knows that everything will manifest in its own perfect time. She says that to try & force something into existence before its time is equivalent to complaining there isn’t snow when it is the middle of summer.

So whilst I feel frustrated that progress on this site is somewhat slow, I am not going to let that feeling escalate into stressing about it. Whether self-employed (like I am), working for a company, or bringing up a family these days we all seem to be juggling multiple demands & feeling time pressured.  More than ever it is essential to decide how we are going to spend this valuable resource.

Thank you for reading.

Sometimes daily work or house drama can also increase your stress levels, now I know what to do, I’m glad I found your blog.

I completely agree with you, having a good balance on our life is a great to avoid stress and keep our minds calm, which give us the chance to be more positive….
